Inclusiveness to protect country, says ex-king

Former king Gyanendra Shah addressed a function organised at Tirahutiya Gachhi in Dhanusha on Wednesday.

The deposed monarch spoke on present political situation, foreign employment, development and inclusiveness in his eight-minute speech. He obliquely criticised political parties for the present political situation in the country. He said the situation looks serious in the local level despite parties’ attractive slogans and plans.

Expressing concerns over ‘depleting communal harmony’, Shah said the policy of inclusiveness should be adopted to protect the country and preserve national identity. He came to Janakpur in the morning and visited the Janaki temple.

Armed outfit calls banda

The Rajan Mukti-led faction of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha, an armed outfit, called a two-day general strike in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts to disrupt Shah’s visit. Rajan Mukti sent emails to local journalists urging them to boycott Shah’s programmes. He claimed that Shah dynasty showed apathy towards Madhes and Madhesi people.
